"Resilience”
This piece is about resilience and the way nature reclaims what we leave behind.
Sculpted from ocean plastic, it contrasts the harsh, ruinous forms of human industry with the organic beauty of creeping fauna. The plants growing over these man-made ruins symbolize nature’s persistence, adapting and flourishing in the spaces we neglect or damage.
I was inspired by places like Chernobyl, where life has returned against all odds, and the simple yet powerful sight of a flower breaking through pavement. These moments remind us that even in the face of destruction, nature prevails.
This work reflects on that balance, hope, and renewal against the backdrop of our impact and asks us to consider our relationship with the natural world.
Framed in a 54x44x10cm white box frame with art glass.
